Review: The Face Shop Clean Face Oil Free Control Essence

By Herugliness
Hello! ~ I had this product for a really long time already, so it is about time I write a review: The The Face Shop Clean Face Oil Free Control Essence. I wanted to use this product for a long time - in this case till all of the bottle's content was used up - before I made my final conclusion. The The Face Shop Clean Face Oil Free Control Essence is, according to The Face Shop, "a serum perfect for treating skin troubles" which "keeps skin fresh and clean." It is suitable for oily any acne-prone skin, so, basically my skin. Review: The Face Shop Clean Face Oil Free Control EssenceReview: The Face Shop Clean Face Oil Free Control EssenceReview: The Face Shop Clean Face Oil Free Control Essence
The product comes in a 40ml glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The packing design is rather boring, but the glass makes the product appear less cheap than plastic packings. You have to deal with having to throw this away with about 10% of content still in the bottle because the pump won't reach the content if there is only little remaining and you cannot squeeze it out or reach it any other way.
The product bottle doesn't really give away much information about what the product does, just that it works quickly and effective. The ingredient list is in Korean, but I found out that active ingredients are Green Tea and Tea Trea, both ingredinets very effective against breakouts. Tea Trea products often smell very bad though, or even burn on the skin, but I did not even notice there was any Tea Tree in this products, because it appears pretty much scent-free. The Essence is of transparent/white color and a bit like a very liquid cream. It is easy to apply, does not feel sticky and gets absorbed by your skin pretty fast.Review: The Face Shop Clean Face Oil Free Control EssenceThe first time I tried this I used it on half of my face to see whether there was any instant effect. I applied BB Cream over it and checked at the end of the day to see whether the half where I had used it was less oily. Unfortunately there was no difference to the other half of the face at all. The The Face Shop Clean Face Oil Free Control Essence does not seem to have any instant effect. So I thought that I probably needed to use it on a daily base to get any visible effect and have been using this constantly for weeks. I am usually not a great fan of products that don't show any instant effect, because I use motivation to use them if I don't see any fast results, but I really pulled this through and used it from start till the bottle was empty. You only need a tiny amount of it for all of your face, even though The Face Shop mainly recommends it for your T-zone.After using this product consequently for weeks I can say that my skin looks exactly as bad as before. It is still exactly as oily as before I started using this essence and my breakouts are just as bad as always. I didn't expect much, but am still quite disappointed that there wasn't even the slightest improvement. The The Face Shop Clean Face Oil Free Control Essence is a product that does not work for me at all and I cannot recommend it. It doesn't do any harm, I did not get more breakouts or any kind of irritations, and I can also apply BB Cream over it without looking like a mess, but there are absolutely no noticeable benefits from using this. (,_,) I can recommend the BB Cream from the same line though
