Wow. This is by far my favorite book out of the series. There were so many mysteries and plot twists in this book that it made my fly through the book in one day. I just love the different mythological stories especially Calypso’s story. Also, I think this is the MOST action packed book so far which made it a fast read. Not only was it filled with battles and adventures, but it also has fantastic humor that’ll leave you laughing out loud… literally.
I love love love the characters. Some characters might seem irrelevant at first, like a by-passer, but trust me, all the characters in this book has a purpose and I LOVE THAT. I love how they are not just some random characters thrown into the book. Although Percy and Annabeth are in their early teens, I think they’re beginning to mature. Also, I see a romance sprouting ;). I’m really glad the author isn’t rushing the romance or else that’ll be a big turnoff in my opinion. I also love Tyson and Grover. They were so funny in this book that I couldn’t help but giggle. At first, I really hated Dionysus, but I grew to love him in this installment because I finally understand his character. That’s just how he is, and no matter how snarky he seems, he’s awesome and hilarious.
I also loved how this book takes place in the Labyrinth. There were so many secrets and creepy passages in there that it left me intrigued and wanting to read more. Overall this is a must read if you love fantasy or if you’re looking for a fast paced read. I think everyone should read the Percy Jackson series no matter what your age is because it’ll appeal to all readers.
