Review / Swatch: MAC Giambattisa Valli Lipsticks in All 5 Shades!

By Beautifulbuns

Now I know MAC churns out collections as quickly as I chomp down a potato rosti, but this collection is something you shouldn’t miss – most of the shades are absolutely gorgeous, and did I mention the beautiful and yet simple packaging? Just take a look for yourself to decide :D

Bianca B: Described to be pale white-pink (matte). Now clearly, this isn’t something for everyday wear. It’s more for theatrical or perhaps that themed event. Or if you decide to channel your inner Nicki Minaj heh.

Margherita: Described as yellow bright peach (matte). Surprisingly, I really love this colour! It’s an acceptable mild tone of coral and is so suitable for those who aren’t looking for a too-bright coral, or are venturing into the orange-toned lipstick zone for the first time.

Tats: Described as bright hot pink (matte). Awww c’mon – I’m such a sucker for bright pink lipsticks – obviously I love this colour! Note that it’s not too shockingly bright pink either, and has a hint of blue undertones.

Charlotte: Described as rich yellow-red (matte). Even though it’s said to have some yellow tones, it still gives a nice rich red that won’t reflect too much yellow onto your skin.

Eugenie: Described as a dark cherry with blue undertones (matte). Woah. This is one of the rare moments you’ll catch me in such dark lip colours. I don’t wear such colours often because of my rather fair skin as well as the fact that it could leave stains on that hot date (hurhurhur). That aside, it doesn’t give me too much of a dried-blood feel, and instead, gives a rather cool Goth-chic feel.

My Verdict: I’m absolutely dying for Margherita, Tats and Charlotte (in that respective order), and would probably skip Bianca B and Eugenie. The texture is smooth and creamy, and for a matte-finish lipstick, they actually don’t sink into the fine lines of the lips that much (note that the above photos were taken without any lip balm/vaseline applied beforehand). Of course, the packaging is another plus point. :)  Psst: If these aren’t your cuppa tea, check out the MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2 lippie, of which 100% of its proceeds go to charity.
