Review: Skinfood Black Sugar Deep Cleansing Cream

By Herugliness
Hello! ~  This is a review of the Skinfood Black Sugar Deep Cleansing Cream. The original product comes in a 200g pot, a packing type I never like because I think constantly dabbing your fingers into the product is very unhygienic. What I got instead was a small 20ml trial version, which was part of a Skinfood trial kit, which comes in a more practical tube.Skinfood Black Sugar Deep Cleansing Cream ReviewSkinfood Black Sugar Deep Cleansing Cream Review
Skinfood says about this product: "The mineral-rich Brazilian black sugar in the cleansing cream leaves your skin moist after washing and gently removes the dense make-up." The cream itself  has a beige/light yellow color and the same strong melted black sugar scent all Skinfood products from this line have. I find it neither very unpleasant, nor extraordinary appealing. Unlike some other products like the Skinfood Black Sugar Scrub Foam or the Skinfood Black Sugar Mask the Skinfood Black Sugar Deep Cleansing Cream doesn't have any kind of sugar grains in it.Skinfood Black Sugar Deep Cleansing Cream ReviewSkinfood Black Sugar Deep Cleansing Cream Review
Skinfood instructs you to apply a moderate amount of the cream over the entire face and massaging it until the makeup dissolves into the cream, then to remove with a tissue or water.I have no idea how long that is supposed to take, but after scrubbing my face with this twice, I still had at least 50% of m BB Cream on my face, so this product is not suitable as makeup remover, nor does it clean your face very thoroughly in my opinion. I tried massaging it in for longer, and it did indeed remove more (though there were still remains of my makeup, no matter how long I massaged it in), though at some point I had the feeling I was massaging all my makeup into my face, which I did not like.
I guess that this is a very mild product from this line, because of the missing scrub grains, and that it can be used for washing your face in the morning, but for more than that you will need a stronger product. It also doesn't cause any kind of irritations or unpleasant feeling when I get the cream into my eyes. Overall not exactly a product I recommend, unless you go makeup-free during the day anyway.
