Review: Skinfood Black Bean Lip Line Pencil #3 Peach Pink

By Herugliness
Hello ~  Today I want to review the Skinfood Black Bean Lip Line Pencil in #3 Peach Pink.
Lip liner pencil to create definition to the lips. Moisturises lips with black bean nutrients.
To use: Apply several times if necessary to obtain the look you want.
The Black Bean Lip Pencil comes in a simple packed dark-purple/black pencil, contains 10g and is available in 6 colors: #1 Dark Red, #2 Pinky Red, #3 Peach Pink, #4 Nude Beige, #5 Ochre Brown and #6 Dark Brown.

The pencil is one of these pencils you have to wist to extend the actual lead. I am usually more a fan of "real" pencils which you can sharpen with a cosmetic sharpener, but if the product is too soft the pencil's tip will often break, so both versions have their pros and cons.

At the other end of the Black Bean Lip Line Pencil there is a small brush. Handy, you would think, only problem is I have no clue what it is supposed to be for? I know many people apply their lipstick with a lip pencil, which makes sense, but a lip liner? You can hardly get the product directly on the pencil (because, it is like on the other end of the pencil, 'dhu?) and even after applying it on your lips you cannot spread it with the brush because the lip pencil doesn't have a creamy texture. Also, because it has a cap, the single hairs of the brush started to buckle after closing it a few times.
The brush doesn't do any harm, but it also has no real use to me.

I wanted a lip line pencil that has a similar color to my lips, because I do not really re-apply my lipstick all day, so once the lipstick fades I did not want to be left with silly outlines on my lips.
I did not pick the #4 Nude Beige (which I probably should have), because my lips aren't very pale and I thought a soft pink would match better. But in the end the color was a bit too pink for my lips after all.

When I apply my BB Cream I usually don't do it very carefully. Half of it goes over my lips and my lip line seems to be a bit uneven anyways, so I wanted something to couture my lips with.
Even though I cannot really use the Black Bean Lip Line Pencil in Peach Pink without a lipstick (because it just looks silly), it works pretty well with most of the soft pink lipsticks I have.
The lip line pencil stays one quite long, though not so long that it would outlive my lipstick noticeable, which ends up being fine, because just having a noticeable lipliner, but no lipstick on your lips, just looks silly.
I think a lip line pencil isn't really a product you can do much wrong with, and I don't have any complains about this one by Skinfood. I am still planning on getting a different, hopefully lighter, shade, but together with lipstick this one works well for me.
