Review of Hipiti

By Linsibrownson @CleverSpark

We all know that signing up for email updates from any company can be tricky business. We like what they have for sale, but we’re hesitant to give up the key to our inbox.

The main concern is that we may be on the business end of multiple sales campaigns, receiving dozens of mailings a day. We’re busy and, while we want to know when we have an opportunity to buy styles at a discount, we can’t be bothered all day with zapping unimportant emails.

So, online retail subscription aggregator, Hipiti.com has found a way to limit the number of emails you get a day, all while still receiving updates from your favorite retailers. After signing up and specifying your brand preferences with Hipiti, you get one email per day with sale updates.

One. Not technically one, with a few extra sneaks into your inbox – one.

Mostly, I really like the idea behind Hipiti. I unsubscribed long ago to the J. Crew and Banana Republic emails, but Hipiti seems to make keeping up to date a little more efficient. First, I know I’m going to get 1 email per day at approximately the same time – so I can expect it.

The email as it looks in my Gmail account

I see only offers from the retailers I subscribed to (except that there are some ads at the bottom – but at least they’re not mixed in with my preferences).

Let’s see what J. Crew has for shorts and bathing suits …

After I review my offers and click one for more information is where it gets a little complicated.

Kind of a redundant step …

Next, Hipiti offers some sharing options which, for me, is totally unnecessary. Is it possible that I might want to share something I find? Of course – but I don’t need social media options making for an extra step in the process. It could be integrated better.

Review of Hipiti

No, I don’t want to share. Just take me to the sale.

Finally there – shorts and swim!

Finally!

Hipiti also has a “blog,” but it’s really just a way to advertise for more product. I like that they make recommendations for occasions like a summer bridal shower – but it feels detached from the humans who wrote it. It would be nice to know who wrote each article and what their fashion background is for some perspective.

The Hipiti “blog”

All in all, Hipiti is a great service because you can consolidate many emails into one. You get one, daily style dose and an opportunity to check in with your favorite retailers to see if they’ve marked down something you want. They organize the information clearly and efficiently, and it allows you to find exactly what you’re looking for.

Drop the extraneous social media component and make the blog a real blog with personality and we’ve got a perfect 10!
