In the frenzy that was the pre-CNY spring cleaning, I suffered many backaches and sneezing fits, but in return, I was rewarded with the unearthing of products that I’d bought but totally forgot about. I’m just so, so glad that beauty products don’t expire in a year (this speaks volumes regarding the length of time that my products are buried for. hah).

The Packaging: It comes in a little compact plastic casing with a transparent lid (aka no mirror). It measures about 5cm across and fits comfortably in the palm of the hand, and is considerably large for a blusher (almost close to a compact powder’s size).
The Scent: A slight whiff of jasmine.
The Texture: The powder grains are really fine and there are not much fall-offs in terms of flakey powder remnants on your face. The powder grains don’t sink into the enlarged pores of my skin too (thankfully!)
The Verdict: I love the whole concept of having a 2-in-1 product, but I do feel that the proportion of blusher is lower than that of the highlighter aka there’s more highlighter than blush. Considering that most people use more blush (since the cheeks cover a larger surface area) than highlighter (nose bridge, cheek bones etc), I foresee me running out of blusher much faster.
- Note: a normal powder/blush brush is slightly larger than the pink blusher area of this product, so you have to be careful when picking up the product, or else you’ll end up with highlighter somewhere.
That aside, the pink is a gorgeous glowy pink that’s buildable (it doesn’t become overly the puppet from Saw) even with several layers. The highlighter is a subtle pearly sheen that’s not over the top. There’s also no denying the convenience of this, especially when you’re going for a staycation or overseas and don’t want to carry too many products along (though you do have to carry a brush along). Overall, a so-so product to have – it’s pretty affordable (I think it cost me about KRW8,000-10,000), and does its job well.
