Last Wool and Testament is the first book in an all new mystery series, the Haunted Yarn Shop mysteries. I could tell that this was the first book; it started very slowly and it was quite corny at times. But that was the first half of the book. The second half was good and it seemed that the author got into her niche and that was what made this book worth reading. The ghost in this book is hilarious and for me, she made the book so much better. I actually found myself laughing out loud at the ghost's antics and I have to say that I will continue with the series, because the ghost is an awesome character.
I loved the small town feel of this book. I tend to see the small town setting in a lot of cozy mysteries, but for some reason, it really works for the cozy mystery genre. It gives it that cozy hometown feeling that I have come to expect with cozies. Blue Plum is no different. Everyone knows everyone and their quirks and it seems so picturesque that I wish I could live there. The series definitely needs some work, but with a little development, I can see this series really taking off. Cute!
