Review: Holika Holika Fairy Water Pure Fresh Toner

By Herugliness
Hello! ~ Today I want to do a review of the Holika Holika Fairy Water Pure Fresh Toner. This product caught my interest because of the idea of the packing concept - "Fairy Water", like a magical potion! I really like this idea a lot, as anything that is a bit magic-like, which is a theme that you will find in a lot of Holika Holika products. The toner comes in a transparent 170ml plastic bottle. I was a bit disappointed when I finally held it in my hands, because somehow it seems a bit "cheap". It's hard to explain and I think it's mostly how the light plastic bottle feels as well as how cheap the letters seem to be printed on the bottle.Holika Holika Fairy Water Pure Fresh Toner ReviewHolika Holika Fairy Water Pure Fresh Toner ReviewHolika Holika Fairy Water Pure Fresh Toner ReviewThis toner is available in two different types, a purple and a blue version and the blue version I got is for combination and/or oily skin. Main ingredients are chamomile water, which has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antispasmodic effect, and "fairy water" (yeah, right...) What I like a lot is that according to Holika Holika this toner is artificial scent free, artificial pigment free, benzophenone free, minearl oil free, paraben free and alcohol free! Super awesome for my extremely sensitive skin!
However, what I really dislike a lot is the horrible and very strong scent of this product: It is a citrus scent with a slightly herbal note and it is really hard to believe that the Holika Holika Fairy Water Pure Fresh Toner is supposed to be free of any artificial scent, because it does not smell natural at all! The scent reminds me of cheap lemon soda and when I started using it I half expected to get rashes as allergic reaction, because I do react that way to some citrus fruits, as well as some artificial ingredients sometimes, but nothing like this happened. My skin reacts pretty well to this product, no irritations at all. It feels neat and refreshed and doesn't sting even if I have infected breakouts on my skin. Despite the scent, I quite like using this toner. If it was not for the scent this would probably go on my list of things to re-purchase, but since I am not too fond of citrus scents I will try a different toner next. Still a good product and if you possibly like citrus scents and have oily and sensitive skin, this might be worth trying out for you!
