I’ve always thought of Lush as a place to buy gifts for female friends and relatives, and maybe for treating myself to the odd bath bomb or two. It had never occurred to me to see what Lush has to offer in terms of everyday skin or hair care essentials. That was, until I was approached by a lovely dreadlocked member of staff at the Glasgow store!
I sat with her and discussed my skin type (oily, spot prone, problem, pain in arse) and one of the products she suggested for me was the Cosmetic Warrior Face Mask. She lathered some of this wonder mask onto the back of my hand and let it work it’s magic for a few minutes. Once she rinsed it away and I looked at my hand, I was sold!
The key ingredients in Cosmetic Warrior are white grapes, tea tree oil and fresh garlic and eggs. This mask does smell quite strongly of garlic but don’t let that put you off! Garlic is so extremely good for you, and when it comes to your skin I always say you should go for substance over how pretty something smells. Although if it works and smells pretty too, that’s a bonus!
The texture of this mask is thick, creamy and a bit lumpy with garlic and grape skins. I’ve been slathering this mask on in big thick dollops 2 or 3 times a week for the past month. I left it on for around 10 minutes, washing it off just as it starts to harden into a clay. As their are no preservatives in Lush’s fresh face masks I had to keep this in the fridge. Queue Mr Juicy thinking I am MENTAL. Urgh boys.
When I put this mask on I experienced a tingling sensation after a few minutes, which I like because it makes it feel like something’s actually happening. Everytime I washed this off I was amazed with the instant results! My skin was soft, smooth and evenly toned. It looked fresh, clean a revitalised, I had the skin of an angel! I really was astounded!
I will say that I’ve found that this mask has given me wonderful short term results, however I’m not convinced that I’m seeing any long term benefits. Don’t let this put you off though if you’re thinking of purchasing this. It’s fantastic for times when your skin needs a boost or before a night out, and the results will last you for a couple of days.
