Resident Evil Revelations 2's Raid Mode won't have online play at launch
Resident Evil Revelations 2's Raid Mode won't be playable online at launch, Capcom has confirmed, with online functionality due to be added "shortly after" the release of the final episode in March.
Until then, the mode will only be playable offline in solo or split-screen co-op.
"Initially Raid Mode will be offline only (solo OR split-screen co-op). However, online play will be added shortly after the final episode (and retail disc) launch in March," Capcom explained on its official blog. "The team has completed work on the story mode content and is now ensuring online Raid co-op will function as expected; while this means a slight delay in online play, the feature will be present down the road."
First introduced in the original Revelations, Raid Mode offers a "run & gun side mode" that lets players shoot their way through hordes of zombies across a variety of missions.
54 Raid Mode missions are due to be included in the first episode of Revelations 2, with a further 140 to be introduced across Episodes 2, 3 and 4.
Episode 1 rolls out on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on February 25.
