Red Queen by @C_Henry_Author

By Pamelascott

The land outside of the Old City was supposed to be green, lush, hopeful. But the verdant fields are nothing but ash-and hope is nowhere to be found. Still, Alice and Hatcher are on a mission to find his daughter: a quest they will not forsake even as it takes them deep into the clutches of the mad White Queen or into the realm of the twisted and cruel Black King. The pieces are set, and the game has begun, and each move brings Alice closer to her destiny.

I have a penchant for re-telling's of Alice in Wonderland, the darker and more twisted the better in my opinion. I have read rather a lot; perhaps I am a tad obsessed. I loved the author's book Alice so don't know why I've taken so long to read Red Queen. Colour me shamed. I am terrible at reading a series and rarely read them in the right order and often read books years apart. I will re-read both Alice and Red Queen at some point. I loved this book, dark and twisted enough to make me happy.
