Happy Friday Lovelies and it definitely is a happy Friday indeed because I've been illustrated for Simply Be's #simplybereal campaign, pass the bubbly! Simply Be have selected some bloggers to share their "real moments" that women experience in everyday life and have them depicted with a unique illustration. I'm so besotted with mine.
My real moment is a funny story of a memorable fashion mishap that I'm sure many of you can relate to. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has many "style" moments that you think back to and cringe because you're wondering "what was I thinking?" but few hunt me more than a particular episode when I was in secondary school ('high school' for my American readers).
One day in secondary school, we had a non-uniform day which meant "come as stylishly dressed as you can to make up for all the other days we had to wear ghastly uniform of navy blue and grey". Loving bold colours as I did, I decided to wear a bright almost neon green t-shirt and my absolute favorite orange (yes orange) fitted jeans, we didn't call it skinny jeans back then but I guess that's what they were. This advance level of color blocking didn't end there, as I teamed the look with some blue velcro strapped Nike sneakers and my brown tinted glasses, which I have not yet forgiven my mother for and no they were not sunglasses, they really were tinted spectacles.
I can't deny that I really was digging my look back then but looking back I would cringe at the thought of such a blinding ensemble today but hey with the color blocking and skinny fit jeans, I guess you could look at it as me trending before the trends. Although I wouldn't wear such an outfit now, it will go down as my top favorite "what was I thinking" moments, especially now that it's been illustrated, thank you Roxanne. Enjoy! TL. Xx
