Ramadan Kareem! Iftar walk at Pune

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything in this space because this year I have decided to be more active on Instagram and create content, that’s why don’t get the ‘content time’ for my blog. Also, I have a part-time medical job.

My Instagram content work makes me so busy shooting and editing, that I have forgotten about my blog.  How? I will tell you.

Recently I visited Mominpura & Kausarbaug, Pune, and took videos for Instagram, but not for a single second it clicked on me to get some photos for my blog. Later I realized my mistake and felt sad because I always take photos esp for my blog. (Most of the photos are taken from the video screenshot) Besides,  the photos can be used for Instagram too.

Further, during Ramadan, my brain doesn’t work much during fasting lol. So I can’t write and after iftar, I feel lethargic.

However, I wanted to write and share my experience of Iftar in my own city. Hence, am writing this article at night.

So, let’s start!

Ramadan is the month in which Muslims around the world fast, and it’s a time to reflect on what matters most in life.

The purpose of this fast is to focus on the spiritual aspect of Ramadan and to help you gain clarity, inner peace & tranquillity. It is a time when Muslims renew their spirit and connect more deeply with their creator.

Being a Punekar, I have never explored Ramadan vibes until now.  I had an amazing Iftar walk experience in old Delhi last year. Thus, this year we planned to explore the enchanting iftar walks in Pune.

After watching some videos on Youtube, We celebrated our iftar-breaking of the fast at Mominpura & Kausarbaug in Pune.

Mominpura & Kausarbaug are two of the most popular iftar destinations in Pune. These places offer us an opportunity to have a delicious iftar with our family & friends.  If you are planning on visiting either place, make sure that you pack your appetite.

You can find an array of delicious iftar foods at the stalls like tandoori chicken and mutton kebabs as well as other mouth-watering items at Mominpura & Kausarbaug!

Iftar at Mominpura

We first visited Mominpura and had our iftar. They had a sitting arrangement, so we could break our fast restfully. There are many delectable items but I liked the kheema samosa the most.

The staffs were courteous and the owner was kind enough to serve us one ‘free dish’ – haleem. Then we had a tahura drink which was very refreshing.

We wanted to buy ‘Sewaiyan’ (vermicelli) but they had put too much food color.

After a while, we visited Kausarbaug which is a few km away from Mominpura.

The bylanes at Kausarbaug are huge and filled with foodies and rozedars.  We saw many people of different faiths visiting here for the ‘love of food’.

In recent years, Kausarbaug has become more famous than Mominpura for its iftar delicacies.

We tried many street food iftar items and had our dinner at Zaffran. Don’t forget to have lip-smacking kebabs and fruit ice-cream.
