Putting Your Activities on the Altar

On the heels of the post, Can you Afford Your Homeschool , I've had a few homeschooling comrades ask me specifically what I've changed and why.
Here's our list that was put on the 'altar'
Homeschool Support Group
Teen Bible Quiz
Junior Bible Quiz
The Old Schoolhouse Review Crew
Assorted Curriculum/Book Reviews
Royal Rangers
Missionettes
Keepers of the Faith
Wednesday Co-op
Friday Co-op
Kempo
Ballet
After praying over the above list using the following questions:
* Does this glorify God?
* Does this bring life to the family?
* Does this encourage?
* Does this edify?
* Does this bear good fruit?
* Does this bring peace?
Here's what the list now looks like:
Homeschool Support Group (The Lord has renewed my vision, energies and goals) 
Teen Bible Quiz (For both my 13 and 11 year olds)
Junior Bible Quiz  (After careful consideration, this did not make for a good "Mother-Daughter-Jesus" relationship.  I'll be working with my daughter one on one with various Bible Study material.)
The Old Schoolhouse Review Crew (This was HUGE for me to give up.  I LOVE reviewing curriculum.  I LOVE sharing my opinion - but I don't love the time it was taking away from homeschooling.  Perhaps in a few years when the dynamic changes...but right now ministering to such a wide age span is where my focus needs to be.)
Assorted Curriculum/Book Reviews (Changed to LIMITED amounts)
Royal Rangers (For both my 13 and 11 year olds)
Missionettes  (This wasn't a good fit for my hands-on daughter.  Our time is better utilized together while the boys are at Royal Rangers)
Keepers of the Faith (A definite keeper!  Fabulous hands-on activities with a fabulous group of girls!  Next year I'll be more active in the running of this program)
Wednesday Co-op (This runs 2 - 8 week sessions.  This one was a tough one to weigh as it definitely benefits the younger children...but, a good choice none-the-less)
Friday Co-op (This runs 36 weeks.  This is a necessity and a blessing.  Definitely geared toward the older children)
Kempo (For the 13 and 11 year olds.  Great Christian leadership and the flexible days are a definite blessing!)
Ballet (For my daughter taught by a homeschooled teenager!  Great group of girls, great price, no drama!)
Homeschool PE (For my 3 oldest children.  A bit rough with The Nip Napper.  But, the kids generally have fun and the teacher is very good at inspiring interaction between the kids.)
