Purchases from My Monaco Trip

By Lisagray @juicysatsuma
Unfortunately, despite the plethora of high end designer stores in Nice and Monaco I didn’t buy any fancy new threads, however I did pick up a few things from local markets for a much more modest price.
I bought this sun hat from a little stall in Monaco. I’m not usually a hat person but we had to sit in the midday sun for hours during the race and I had to get something to protect my scalp from burning! The stall owner told me this hat was handmade in Ecuador, hopefully by adults who got paid a decent wage and not by enslaved toddlers. I’m going to be posting some of my outfits from my trip tomorrow so you’ll get a look at what this looks like on then.

Purchases from My Monaco TripI bought these Sterling silver rings from a market in Nice. The nice owner lady tells me that the stones used are moonstones. I’m not big on costume jewelry and prefer pieces which tell a story. I’ll wear these rings for the rest of my life and everytime I look at them I’ll think, I went to Nice and it was awesome :-)

Purchases from My Monaco TripI also picked up a few things for our house. I love this olive oil bottle and it now takes pride of place on my kitchen worktop. It was also from a market in Nice and the stall owner handpaints bottles in all sorts of shapes and sizes herself.

This colourful little candle holder was also hand painted by a different market stall owner. I love adding little bits and pieces like this to my home that I’ve collected on my travels. It means my home is filled with memories of some of my favorite times.

I had to buy this hand towel from one of the F1 merchandise laden stalls in Monaco. It's tacky and ridiculous but every bathroom needs a little touch of tacky ridiculousness!

Finally I picked up this magazine cutting from a flea market. It’s a Dior perfume ad from a French magazine published in the 1960s. I can't wait to frame it and put it up. Mr Juicy is less than enthused with it though!
