Prince William Henry is a spacious modern Southwark pub, boasting extensive outdoor decking for the summer and multiple dartboards. The large glass front gives the pub an open and airy feel, contrasting to the dingy atmosphere of many other pubs in the area. Admittedly the outside is not all that successful in hiding its council flat appearance. Whilst the decking gives ample searing room for the summer, there are certainly better beer gardens, notably any not located next to a main road and grubby exterior.
There is a good selection of wines available, but the beer does not tend to venture too far from the norm. On my visit the food was good and reasonably priced and the staff very friendly. The large open well lit space makes the pub ideal for large groups to meet and easily intermingle without too much musical chairs. It is a very good choice for a large group to catch up or socialise.
One big selling point is the dart boards. They are becoming rarer and rarer and many don’t survive refurbishments. What is better is if you do like darts the boards aren’t tucked away like they are in many places. You can happily play darts without isolating yourself from a larger group. All in all, if you’re looking for somewhere to arrange a work get together in the summer, this would not be your worst choice.
