Product Review: Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base

By Dressmeupbuttercup @hazelsalcedo

Baby Choux Base is part of Etude House’s 2013 Spring collection aptly called SWEET RECIPE. To know more about the Sweet Recipe collection, check out the product launch event I got invited to attend last February *click here*.

So what exactly is this Baby Choux base? Off the box it says: This light and fluffy choux cream-like makeup base creates baby choux skin with its moist inside and soft smoothness on the outside

Two variants are available here in the Philippines: Mint Choux and Berry Choux. And both have SPF 25, PA++ so you can skip the sunblock when using this makeup base. It is meant to be applied as primer, in preparation for the makeup products you will be using such as foundation or BB cream; or you can also wear it alone. It gives a moist, bright coverage for flawless soft skin.

The Mint Choux which is green in color is meant to correct/conceal your red spots or acne marks. Compared to the Berry Choux, I like this one more because the redness of my face is diminished after application.

The Berry Choux, a light pink/almost nude color, on the other hand gives a much brighter and lighter finish. Choose this one if you don’t have red marks to correct. Btw, it smells like real berries! I love it!

Both Baby Choux have very light and creamy texture. You can also easily blend it with your brush or fingers. Just a caution since it smells so good, resist the urge to lick this off your fingers, hmmkaay? :)I also personally liked the sophisticated packaging! The jar container made it look expensive. However, some may find it unhygienic because you have to dip your finger/s to be able to scoop out the product. No spatula is included.
