At the end of last year, notonthehighstreet.com contacted me and explained that they would like to send me through a voucher to spend on their website. Of course I leapt at the opportunity, but in all honesty I had never heard of their site before. I love discovering new websites and brands to feature on my blog and share with friends and family. If you haven't yet discovered it, notonthehighstreet.com is a UK-based online retail marketplace providing a unique platform, enabling small businesses to thrive in a retail climate otherwise dominated by popular high street and online retail giants. It also opens up new and unique inspiration and ideas, providing customers with unique products not seen on the high street.The website is crammed full of wonderful gifts for every type of person, and I guarantee you'll never be stuck for choice. So here is one of the items I chose. This gorgeous vintage floral bag by Poppy Valentine which is perfect as a cosmetic bag, or a summer clutch. I was drawn to their gorgeous fabric prints which include the feminine florals of the 1940's, the abstract barkcloth prints of the 50's, the bohemian hippy chic of the 60's, and of course the psychedelic swirls of the 70's. The fabrics are limited edition which gives the product a unique and special feel to you as the purchaser. Already having a love for floral prints, especially in the Spring/Summer and teamed with denim, I opted for this pastel print which is quite subtle but very pretty. There are several other gorgeous designs which I know I will end up buying. The pale pinks and lilacs teamed with the greens and blues against a cream backing give this bag a beautiful vintage look. Because I love the print so much I will most likely use it as a Spring/Summer clutch, as it would seem silly hiding such a beautiful design away as a cosmetic bag. I would just like to take a minute to say, welcome to 2013, and thank you for all the support and interest since last summer when British Couture first hit the blogging scene. Despite it only being just over 6 months old, I have received some wonderful feedback and great interest and praise from popular brands and companies. I hope to carry this on for many years to come, and I hope British Couture will continue to grow and become an enjoyable read for many. I also hope to continue to work alongside brands, and small businesses, in order to promote and provide interest for my readers. Lets hope this year will prove even more of a success.
