Pollen Season is Interfering with My Margarita Season.

Pollen Season is Interfering with My Margarita Season.

This is a really tough week for me. It’s my Spring Break and it’s also the beginning of pollen season here in Raleigh, NC. I’m basically trapped inside with two dogs (one is a puppy being potty trained) and lots of laundry. I go outside for 5 minutes and come back in with itchy eyes and a swollen face. I look like death. I feel like it too.

I have had allergies all my life so while I love spring, i hate it too. I have tried every single allergy medicine and none of them work anymore except Benadryl. And since it puts me to sleep (like in a coma) I can only take it at night. So I suffer all day, everyday for about 8 weeks because apparently, I am allergic to everything in North Carolina. Am I complaining? YES!

I have tears streaming down my face from my eyes constantly watering. I was at church a few years ago during pollen season and a lady put her arm around me and asked what was wrong and how could she help? I had no makeup on and my eyes were watering like I was crying from a death in the family. I told her sweetly no, I was ok. Just the pollen. To which she said, “oh, ok honey. But I’m here for you if you need to talk.” Really? I have ALLERGIES!

So this week I won’t bore you with my rants of pollen and I’ll keep this short. This is not the time to screw with me. Don’t piss me off or come at me like a crazy person. Because I will hurt anyone who wants to tell me their sob stories right now while I am suffering through pollen season. I don’t care if your Aunt Betty’s sister’s cousin passed away from bug bites from being on the show ‘Naked And Afraid’, I am suffering. REALLY suffering.

I hope all of you enjoy your spring breaks, vacations and wonderful moments with your children and families. But if you suffer from pollen allergies, I got your back. I feel ya. Just hang in there~

Cheers Y’all!
