Poetry to the People

By Pamelascott

Do you struggle with the inability to express yourself to those you love? Have you been hurt by people that were meant to care and protect you? Are you feeling overwhelmed by life and do not know whom to speak to or how to clear your head? You are not alone, I have felt all these things before. These poems on navigating through the obstacles of life are for you.

Poetry to the People offers a compelling look at societal issues facing people of colour. The anthology focuses on fostering self-love and acceptance, empowering ourselves and others to live confidently by reclaiming our unique identities.

This is my first time reading the poets in this anthology.

I really enjoyed Poetry to the People. I got a sense that these poems were very personal to the poets and they were sharing something very intimate with me. At times, I felt a little too much was shared and I had to look away. The poems in this anthology are intense, personal and deeply moving. I'm not a person of colour so the experiences analysed here are very different from my own but I still felt an emotional connection to what the poets were trying to express. I'm glad I got a chance to read Poetry to the People.
