Pho Viet Singapore

By Dariel

Frog and I have been looking around in Singapore for authentic Vietnamese food since back from our trip from Hanoi and Ho Chi Min. We love Vietnamese cuisine especially the spring roll and beef pho. I love how the Vietnamese incorporate herbs (spear mints, Thai basil, leaves of thorny cilantro) into the beef pho and the refreshing lingering aftertaste that goes well with the beef broth and pho.

I had tried beef pho from various places in Singapore and the pho is not as smooth as those I had eaten in Vietnam. Happen to chance upon Pho Viet that is located along the street at 189 Joo Chiat Road and decided to try out the food there. We had ordered beef pho, vietnamese spring roll, mango salad and minced chicken culet. The pho is smooth and the ingredients are fresh too. The beef pho will be perfect if the broth can be more flavour as it taste quite bland. Love the mango salad.

Frog love the Vietnamese coffee as it is thicker and stronger than the local coffee. The price of the food is reasonable and a bowl of beef bowl cost $6.00. Frog and I will be back to try out their Banh Mi, Vietnamese traditional baguette with various choices of fillings to choose from.

Have a great weekend everyone!
