But before we give ice cream all the credit, it is safe to say that there are many additions to even the creamiest bowl of vanilla that can shoot your culinary enjoyment through the roof.

Here is a round-up of favorite DIY toppings that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home.

Starting Off With Something Light

Obviously, you can top your scoops off with something naturally sweet. (Although we are still searching for ways to help them negate other calories!) For lighter topping choices consider the following:
