Pantone has recently released their Colour of the Year for 2024, and it’s called Peach Fuzz.
They describe it as a color that captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. A velvety gentle peach tone that enriches mind, body and soul.
In essence, it’s a soft warm light orange (so sorry all of the people with a cool undertone, it’s not for you, or me).
The palettes it fits most elegantly and naturally into are Exquisite and Intriguing as they both have soft intensities and light values.
Of course, like all fashion colours there will end up being a range of them, from very light to medium light, from brighter to more muted, so most warm palettes will be able to find a version that they can embrace.
Colour Schemes With Peach Fuzz
The easiest way to mix colours successfully together is to choose others that have similar intensity, undertone and value. So other soft light colours in your palette should pair extremely well. Here I’ve put Peach Fuzz aligned colours with warm red-violet, soft turquoise blue, soft warm green and warm greys make a great neutral accompaniment or your best browns.
Which Neutrals Work Well with Peach Fuzz?
Warn Navy is a great option, particularly if you have a higher color contrast – as orange and blue are complementary colours which means they make each other pop.
Got a low color contrast? Go for shades of brown, from tan and camel to cognac.
For a more unusual pairing, try it with your soft olives and khaki greens.
So if you’ve got a warm undertone this could be a great skin-enhancing color for you, particularly if you have a peachy-toned skin, you’ll look fresh and alive with this kind of color. If you’re cool, avoid it as it will make you appear sallow (probably not the look you’re going for). If you don’t know, then why not invest in a personal color analysis as it makes it so easy to find the right colours, discover your color and value contrast and build a wardrobe of clothes that work for you, and you won’t make mistakes when shopping and end up bringing home colours that are in fashion, but don’t work for you.
