Packing for a Wedding Abroad

By Twothirstytravellers @2thirstytrav

Most of the time, when we travel, we do so for our own pleasure. So, we choose where we go and when we go. But, occasionally you will need to travel for the sake of others. For example, if a friend or family member is getting married abroad.

This type of travel is fun too, but it also has its challenges. One of which is packing. You have to take a different approach from what you normally would, so knowing where to start can be tricky. Fortunately, we are here to help. All you need to do is to read on and follow our tips to be able to pack properly for a wedding abroad.

Don’t forget the shapewear

First, we are going to talk about shapewear. The reason we are putting this up the top of the list is a lot of people forget to pack any. Often, this turns out to be a big mistake. If you click here you will soon realize that wearing good shapewear will help you to look your very best in your wedding guest outfit.

It is great at holding you in and smoothing out your bulges. Importantly, good shapewear also provides support and lift, which improves the silhouette and ensures that you will look great in the photos.

At this point, we should also mention the importance of packing the right underwear. You do not want to feel uncomfortable or be wearing something that is too tight and creates bulges.

The right outfit for the climate

When you choose your wedding guest outfit, bear in mind the weather conditions in the area you will be traveling to. Before going shopping, go online and check out the average temperatures and rainfall. It can also be helpful to read a few travel reviews. This will enable you to find out if it gets very cold at night or is very humid. Both of which could affect what style of outfit you choose.

If at all possible avoid fabrics that crease easily. No matter how careful you are when you pack your outfit is going to get a little crumpled. The more crease resistant the fabric is the less likely it is that you will need an iron when you reach your travel destination.

Resist the temptation to squeeze everything in

This is the one occasion where it makes sense to pay to take an extra suitcase. You really do not want to squash the items you are planning to wear for the wedding. Getting the creases out can be a nightmare, especially if you arrive at your hotel and discover that they do not provide a laundry service.

Carry your outfit with you

If at all possible, carry your wedding outfit in a cabin bag. That way if your hold luggage goes missing you will still have everything you need to look respectable, with you.

It is wise to go online and learn the best way to pack a suit or formal dress before selecting the bag you will use for this job. YouTube is a great place to find out what you need to know.
