First off, I’m really glad the summary doesn’t contain any spoilers since it’s the sequel. The cover is just beautiful! I think it fits the summary since the cover looks mysterious, and the summary sounds mysterious as well. There are 3,088 ratings on Goodreads right now, and this must be good because the majority of the people who rated it gave it a 4 or 5 stars. I also looked at the “genres” section over at Goodreads, and many categorized The Evolution of Mara Dyer as young adult fantasy, paranormal, romance, mystery, thriller, and supernatural. Woah. I want to read this like now. Here is what our lovely reviewers had to say…

PEOPLE WHO ENJOYED IT..
“I really loved the plot in this story. There was much more back round history and lots of questions answered. It was like a light bulb went off in my head and everything made sense. Once in the story, the reader begins to see the bigger picture.” – Books With Bite

“I love how with this installment there were so many different twist! You find out so many things in this book that will leave your mind boggled. The suspense keeps you turning the pages wanting to know what’s going to happen next.” – Synchronized Reading

“Yes, I enjoyed the first book (The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer) but this book was even better. You know how Noah and Mara had some hot scenes in the first book? Even more hot here. And how the first book was a little creepy? WAY MORE CREEPY HERE.” – Kelly Vision

PEOPLE WHO DIDN’T LIKE IT SO MUCH..
“Started out great – thought I would enjoy it even more than Unbecoming, but then it just kept rehashing the same romantic plotlines (Did I upset him? Does he still love me? etc…) and the rest of the story felt rushed. And Mara is still annoying, though the grandmother is intriguing. Actually, I think I’m most annoyed that this book started off with the grandmother plotline but didn’t really resolve it.” – Sistersgrimm

“I did not feel the same about this one as I did the first one. Maybe because it was a sequel, I don’t know. I thought the story line was all on one level … Not much rising action and the climax felt like everything else that happened before.” – Enjoy A Book Blog

I’m still giving this one a go. How about you guys? What are your thoughts about this book? To me it sounds pretty cool and mysterious.
