The Humble Heart Of A Saved Single Lady

It takes a special woman with a humble heart to say, “Not my will Lord, but thy will be done.” A proud woman says, “I don’t need God. I can find my own way. I can provide for myself everything that I need.”

“Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.” (Proverbs 26:12 ESV)

Many question the ways of the saved single lady. Why does she pray concerning her love life? Why does she want a husband that will love God more than her? Why does she use the Bible as her guide for love and marriage?

It is because daughters of the King adorned themselves with humility. It does not mean that you see yourself as worthless, but rather you acknowledge that God’s ways are above your own. Your heart longs to please your first love, Jesus Christ.

But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. (Luke 14:10 ESV)

The saved single lady does not rush to sit in a place that God has not prepared for her. She knows that she may find herself ashamed if she oversteps the boundaries of the will of God.

If she humbles her heart and allows God to take the lead in her life, He will come to her and say, “Daughter, move up higher.”

“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luke 14:8-11) Those who esteem there own agenda will be embarrassed and humbled when they find that they didn’t know more than God after all.

As for the single woman who humbles herself in the Lord, Jesus takes notice of her. He is moved because her humble heart is like His own. She is one who is distinguished and invited to move up higher, because she reflects the glory of a distinguished God.
