2. We threw a big. huge. massive carnival-themed party to launch

Aaaand we introduced 24/7 shopping to the world with our UBER COOL gift machine!
3. Fashion Forward (the definitive Dubai fashion event) launched with a BANG! (Or should we say Bong.. hehe)!
And Zayan The Label participated in both seasons! (Can’t wait for season 3!)

4. The world re-embraced punk fashion! Hellooooo tartan, safety pins & leather – all thanks to a little annual event known as The Met Gala!
We paid homage by throwing our own #BallgownsgonePUNK party on May 8th with punked-up pieces from some of our favourite local designers!

5. The Unicorn earned highest animal honours by becoming fashion’s “IT” creature!
All thanks to Sophia Webster’s AW13 presentation where she used unicorns throughout her collection and quoted Peter S. Beagle’s line from The Last Unicorn “Always be yourself. Unless you can be a unicorn. Then always be a unicorn.” as her favourite quote!

which brings us to #6…
6. Sophia Webster fell for Zayan SS13 ‘s #Bambis!
but she wasn’t the only one…. we sorta all fell for Bambi…

7. We Got Lucky…
Allllllll summer long with the release of Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories: arguably the most elaborate album release in history!

7. The minions made a big comeback when Despicable Me 2 graced our screens …
and we had Pharrell’s theme song: HAPPY on repeat, which made us, well, pretty Happy!
Oh and then he made the first 24 hour music video, which made us even … Happier!

8. No 2013 round-up list would be complete without mention of the CRONUT! So yes, at number 8 on our list is the moment we tasted the infamous dessert thanks to Butter Dubai!
Yeh… we got pretty excited.
So excited that we even interviewed the creator himself, Chef Dominique Ansel!

9. #Hashtags infiltrated fashion speak. And we all got on the #bandwagon.

10. We took part in the first ever Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience at The Dubai Mall on October 10th by partying with super famous Italian blogger Chiara Ferragni, AKA www.theblondesalad.com!
