Chinese Smartphone company OPPO has launched another selfie-focused smartphone called the OPPO F1s in an event held in Mumbai, India yesterday. The brand has been really successful in tapping the selfie trend amongst the youth. OPPO phones are quite popular not just because of the powerful selfie specific camera but also because of the premium design of its smartphones. OPPO has been doing really well off late in India along with China and is the no. 1 brand in China in terms of total shipments in Q2 2016.
It comes with a 5.5-inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixels resolution). The phone runs Color OS 3.0 with battery saving features and some UI enhancements.The OPPO F1s is priced at Rs. 17,990, and will go on sale from August 11 via Amazon India and retail stores across the country. It will be made available in Gold, Rose Gold, and Grey color variants.
F1s is a stripped down version of Oppo F1 Plus and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor along with the Mali-T860 MP2 GPU and 3GB RAM. The smartphone is powered by a 3075mAh battery that supports Super VOOC fast charge technology , 32GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded via microSD card. The phone has a triple slot card tray that houses 2 nano sims and a MicroSD card.
The Camera is the highlight feature of the OPPO F1s and the smartphone comes loaded with 16-megapixel front-facing camera with a 1/3.1-inch sensor and f/2.0 aperture. It also comes with its Beautify 4.0 app for selfie editing, the Selfie Panorama feature that stitches together three selfies, and the Screen Flash feature. The rear camera is a 13-megapixel sensor with PDAF autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, and dual-LED flash.
Another feature of the device is its fingerprint sensor on the home button, and the company claims it unlocks the F1s in as little as 0.22 seconds.With the limited time we spent with the device we found that indeed unlocked the phone in a real quick time. In fact, it beat the iPhone 6S hands down. The fingerprint sensor can be used to launch different functions based on the different fingers used to unlock the device, including making voice calls.
