#operationpink – Fuchsia Pink Gelish Manicure by Kim’s Nails

By Kasthuri

Hello!

For most of October 2013, I will be sporting fuchsia nails, keeping in theme with the Breast Cancer Awareness month. The only person I’ve ever gotten my Gelish manicures done by is my friend Kim who runs Kim’s Nails from her residence. My very first Gelish manicure was a beautiful paisley-printed turquoise set and the second one I did with Kim earlier this year in March was a rose and pink glitter set. This time, I went for a vibrant, attention-grabbing true fuchsia.

We modified another design that Kim had – it was a black and white set that was very reminiscent of Marc Jacobs’ Daisy fragrance design. Here, she used Harmony Gelish in Gossip Girl as the base color. I like the half-moon design – the clear portion towards the cuticles doesn’t reveal the outgrowth in an obvious way.

It’s been 2 weekends since I’ve gotten my nails done – by the 2nd week, I usually like to paint on a layer of topcoat to protect it a little more – here I’ve used Canmake Gel Volume Top Coat. Also, I sometimes cook or forget and accidentally dip my fingers in curry and the top coat prevents any staining – you have no idea how powerful a staining agent turmeric is
