Qualcomm may launch its new flagship processor, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, in October. Rumor has it, the OnePlus 13 could be one of the first smartphones to hit the market with this chipset. Although the official launch is far away, various information about the phone has already started leaking online. And now some new details of OnePlus 13 have been revealed.
Tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) reported that the OnePlus 13 will feature a 6.8-inch OLED LTPO screen, which will offer a micro-curve design. The screen will support 2K resolution and will have an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner. Whereas previous OnePlus flagships featured an optical under-display fingerprint sensor. DCS claims that the Chinese company is currently testing the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. So, whether it makes it to the final model remains to be seen.
It is also reported that the OnePlus 13 will come with a multi-focal camera system. Like the predecessor model, it will also have a periscope telephoto camera for superior optical zoom. A report in February suggested that the back panel design of the company’s new flagship phone could be completely changed.
Note that some Ace and Number series flagship phones of OnePlus have a similar rear design. This year, the company launched two Ace-series phones in China, the OnePlus Ace 3 and Ace 3V. The OnePlus 3V features a new vertical camera module instead of the usual round-shaped camera design found on the standard Ace 3. Whether the upcoming OnePlus 13 model offers even more premium looks than the Ace 3V remains to be seen.
