One Day in Amsterdam Walking With a Camera

By Aswesawit @aswesawit

Dear Luke and Leia,

I get one day in Amsterdam walking with a camera and we are being shown around by Farieda, one of our dear friends.

One Day in Amsterdam Walking with a Camera

We visited Amsterdam once before and she gave such excellent guidance on what to see that time that I know this time will be superfantastic. There’s nothing like firsthand experience, right? So without too many words getting in the way, I want to take you two along our journey in pictures.

Netherlands Friends and Food

Friends and family of Amsterdam

From left to right, Dan, Linda, Hermien, Farieda (our personal tour guide friend), Jennie (who lives in Panama but surprised us) and Sonny. Hermien and Sonny are our adopted European parents (thanks for sharing them, Farieda).

Sonny told us we had to try haring, a favorite local snack. Pickled herring is hugely popular in Amsterdam; people have been eating it in Holland for over 600 years.

Sonny force-feeding Linda some herring. (Okay, so maybe no force was involved.) It was actually pretty good!

We hope you enjoyed the journey in pictures with us. Amsterdam is truly a wonderful place to visit, full of great food, friendly people and glorious sights. We hope to take you two there someday soon. But for now it is off to Paris. We will write from there soon.

Love,

Nana and Pap

P.S. – If you have Pinterest you can click the top left of any photos in our story to add them to your Pinterest boards. We would actually like that a whole lot.
