Oh So Tasty: IdleRye

Deep Ellum is in the midst of a resurgence and IdleRye is one of its newest stars opening its doors a few weeks ago at 2826 Elm Street in Deep Ellum. IdleRye's interior is inspired by historical influences, with galvanized metals, locally sourced, distressed and blowtorched wood, Edison lighting fixtures and rustic pipe fittings & pulleys. It is manly and warm at the same time, so it appeals to both sexes. 👏👏👏 The menu focuses on small bites perfect for sharing. My personal favorites were the Pierogies, crispy potato dumplings filled with fresh chives, cheddar & sour cream and the Deviled Eggs. For those seeking healthier fare, there are a handful of salads on the menu. I am a huge fan of arugula so of course, the salad named ARUGULA jumped out at me. It also happened to many other ingredients I am obsessed with like Figs, Toasted Pine Nuts, Crispy Pancetta, Shaved Parmesan, Lemon & E.V.O.O. My one word review of this salad? YUM. For my main course, I sampled my husband's Salmon entree. The fish was perfectly pan-seared and was served on a ragout of sautéed sweet corn, Spanish chorizo, wild mushrooms & herb vinaigrette. My taste buds were doing a major happy dance over my selection of the Schnitzel, which was a panko-crusted pork tenderloin served over German potato salad and topped with arugula and a sunny side up egg. The best part about this dish was that it was so big that I had a good 50% of it left over and got to eat it for lunch the next day. I love it when that happens...
🍺 IdleRye's drink menu features craft cocktails inspired by the prohibition era, wine by the glass or bottle and beer on tap. "We considered a variety of factors when we crafted our menus, like how we could incorporate locally sourced, sustainable products and how well our dishes would pair with cocktails, wine and beer," said IdleRye's chef, Ray Skradzinski. "By focusing on making our food and drinks in-house, we're able to use the freshest ingredients and create new menu items according to the season." The 3,400-square-foot restaurant has 900 square feet of patio and can seat approximately 110 inside and 40 outside. Additionally, there is a courtyard behind the restaurant with cafe-style seating.

A variety of fresh, seasonal dishes are being offered for brunch, lunch, dinner and late night services. IdleRye is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. For more information, visit idlerye.com.
