of the Valley

This is my second 'interiors' post since moving into our new flat in June, showing you some of the housey bits I'm lusting over at the moment. Our entire flat has laminate flooring which is beyond annoying - oh what I'd do for carpeted floors! So we're looking out for a big rug for the sitting room, and I absolutely love this one from Urban Outfitters. We are torn about whether to get a neutral coloured rug, or something more colourful; we don't want to be living in beige heaven! At the moment we have a large cream sofa which we've covered in various throws and coloured cushions, I love the blue aztec print one above but at £30 it's a bit (/very) pricey! Damn you John Lewis and your gorgeousness. The one thing we're really missing in our bedroom at the moment is a clock - I must have become attached to the one in my parents house! I keep looking up to the wall in the morning to check the time and there's nothing there, how sad. Who would have known clocks were so expensive?! The only nice ones we've seen so far have been around the £30 mark, which seems like a lot, but we may just have to bite the bullet. Got my eye on this white beauty from John Lewis, think it might be a pay-day purchase! The wicker thing at the bottom of the picture above is a trunk, which I have always wanted at the foot of my bed. Unfortunately, our bedroom is made for people the size of Borrowers, so it is not to be. Sigh. I do like the idea of these room fragrance diffusers - they look pretty and make the place smell nice. Perfect! And finally, a few kitcheny-bakey bits. Since making a pretty incredible (if I do say so myself) chicken, bacon and leek pie last month, I am keeping my eyes peeled for a pie dish. What is it about feeling like you must have the perfect tin/dish/pan for every possible culinary adventure?! Sadly, I am one of those people, and therefore need the perfect pie dish. I realize I am beginning to sound middle aged. Hmmmm... to wrap it up then, the last two bits oh my hit list are a cake stand (completely unnecessary but pretty) and a piping set. Cakes always look prettier when they have been iced using an icing bag, especially cupcakes, so feel I need to give it a go! The kit above looks so cool, I love that the piper (pipe?) is shaped like a syringe, it will make me feel like a doctor. Childhood ambition, fulfilled!I have whittered on for long enough, do you love any of these items?!
