October Empties

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
I'm always on a mission to use up products and this past month was certainly no exception, so I've got a few empty products to give you my thoughts on and whether or not I'd repurchase them in the future. October seemed to be the month for using up skincare products and I'm definitely not complaining about this I really need to change up my routine in order to deal with the change in temperature. My combination skin has gotten a lot drier due to the colder weather and this has called for gentle exfoliators and super hydrating moisturisers, although I do still need to be careful with my oily t-zone which seems to have gotten worse too. You just can't win with combination skin it seems! Now that my little skincare ramble is out of the way, it's time to talk about these October empties.

Nivea Daily Essentials Refreshing Toner - I'm not too fussy when it comes to toners & this affordable offering from Nivea was one that I repurchased as I remembered it feeling good on the skin and it also had a bit of money off so that made the decision even easier. The Refreshing Toner from Nivea is lovely to use as it really leaves your skin feeling fresh after cleansing, and it's also great for making sure that you've removed all of your makeup after cleansing. I'm sure I'll be repurchasing this toner after I've used up my current one (the Garnier Simply Essentials Soothing Toner).
Herbal Essences Fresh Balance Clarifying Shampoo - Just like toners, I'm not particularly loyal to shampoos as I haven't seen much of a difference in the condition of my hair when trying out numerous shampoos. As long as a shampoo can remove all of the dirt from my hair then I'm happy enough, and this clarifying shampoo from Herbal Essences really did the trick. Because it really strips your hair of oil, it's best not to use the shampoo for every wash and I found it to be great for my hair when used every few washes. A shampoo that can keep my oily roots at bay is always a winner in my eyes and I'll be sure to repurchase this in the future.
Superdrug Vitamin E Moisturising Day Cream - I don't even know how long this little pot has sat in my stash but I finally got around to scooping out the last few bits of cream, hurray. This moisturiser is a firm favorite of mine during the summer months as it's rich enough without being too greasy on the skin and also has SPF 15 which is so important when you're out in the sun. Right now I have far too many moisturisers to be getting on with so I can't see myself repurchasing anytime soon, but it's still a lovely product that I'd recommend to anyone.
Bioderma Sensibio H2O - Last but not least is Bioderma, the micellar cleanser that has taken the blogging world by storm. I finally gave in and treated myself to a bottle a few months ago and as nice as it was to use, I don't think I'll be repurchasing as I've found more affordable alternatives that do the same (and if not a better) job. This cleanser is gentle enough to use on sensitive skin and does a nice job of removing makeup and other dirt on your skin, but in the end I'd much rather repurchase the L'Oreal Micellar Solution which works in the same way and is a fraction of the price of Bioderma (you can find a more detailed comparison here).
