NSW Bloggers Brunch: A Courageous Experiment with The Kids

By Makemeupmandy @mandywebb28
This Friday, I'm taking the kiddos down to Sydney - a courageous sole parental 4 hours drive there and 4 hours drive back, baby! I'm attending the NSW Blogger Brunch - with babysitting services provided and all. I couldn't give that a miss!
I'm definitely looking forward to it and was so stoked to be invited that I decided to take Ally out of school for the day. "Decided" sounds like such an empowering word; I should really say "I had no choice but to" because I pretty much have to leave home around 6ish and we have no one to take her to school. I only realized later that most mums would probably be taking their preschoolers and now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Ally won't get bored or puzzled about being in a room with dozens of little ones.
Amidst other fears, worries and nightmares of Kasey chucking her spectacular big tantrums and getting featured on other mums' blogs about having some toddler disrupt the event... I am really excited and looking forward to meeting some of the bloggers whom I have been following for the whole last year of my blogging + before I started blogging.

My baby does do this a lot.
I have to say it gets a little surreal sometimes and I do feel really blessed. I remember the early days when I told my husband I wanted to start a blog... to the days when I first started and he did chuckle when I said I had 5 readers (he obviously did not understand it is not all about statistics!)... And then 15. And then 20. And then more...
I appreciate all the connections I have made, the little snippets of people's lives that I have come across (whether through blogs, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook). This is only the 2nd bloggers event that I have attended so I have to say I haven't at all mastered any relevant social skills for such events. I'm nervous, excited, worried and am feeling a whole other bunch of emotions. Not to mention the added pressure of taking the kids along.
Care to share if you have any tips? Or let me know you'll say hi to me if you're attending too? ;)
