Usually, my maid floats around in the morning doing very little, she was more of a hindrance than a help.
She left last night and I was dreading the Morning routine, two toddlers, BoKhalid’s clothes to iron and breakfast to make, washing to put on, dog to let out/feed etc and it all went very smoothly and I had so much free time I even managed to whip up homemade pancakes!

Here’s the recipe with an UmKhaloodie twist:

For fluffy pancakes, here’s what you need.

135grams flour
130ml of milk
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of caster sugar (don’t use normal sugar)
1 egg
A sprinkle of vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda!

I greased my pan a lot as it was brand new and I was scared it needed sealed.
After you grease up the pan, remove the melted butter, you don’t need it.

My grandmother always told me, you know when a pancake is ready to flip as it will start to ‘bubble’. Go by this method and you will have perfect pancakes!

You can add sugar and lemon – classic English style or you can go kuwaiti and add Nutella!
