Nip+Fab Pistachio Sundae Dry Skin Fix Body Butter

Nip + Fab is a brand I’ve been wanting to try for ages so I was pleased to to see Nip + Fab Pistachio Sundae Dry Skin Fix body butter in my April 2013 Glossybox. Admittedly I wanted to try one of their CC creams or something which will combat my oily skin, but it was still a nice surprise to receive this body butter. I just wish I got a different ‘flavour’.

When I first saw this cream I thought that the bright green color was off-putting. The pistachio sundae body butter is obviously a reflection of pistachio nuts, but it smells exceptionally sweet. It smells very sugary and it isn’t very appealing, although I suppose it does smell like what it claims on the outside. I do understand that the color and the smell reflects the funky nature of the brand, but I don’t care for ‘funky’ skincare products as I can’t help but think that they will be less effective than more serious brands.

I tried the body butter on my feet as they’re the only part of my body where I have dry skin, and it was also far enough away from my nose that I didn’t have to smell the sweet pistachio fragrance all day. A little of this body butter goes a long way as it spreads well, but I did notice that it took a while to dry, although that might be to do with its hydrating factors. Using the body butter on oily skin isn’t good because the body butter sits on top of the layer of grease and doesn’t sink in well. The butter doesn’t feel sticky or uncomfortable, but seeing as it’s quite thick and heavy I’d advise against using this on your face. Definitely don’t use this in the summer as the sweet smell might start attracting insects.

The Nip + Fab body butter contains aquaxyl for 24h moisture and shine, shea butter to soothe and moisturise, and mineral oil to condition and soften. I did notice that my feet felt softer and looked a little shinier. They felt soothed and conditioned, especially so after several uses. I had to use this body butter before going to sleep though as it took so long to dry. I think that the cons really outweigh the benefits on this product because there are others which smell nicer that still do a good job and don’t take so long to dry. Although the body butter is £9.95 for 200ml, I don’t see myself buying another.
