NEW: Surratt Lipslique

By Hollysbeautybox @hollysbeautybox
As a blogger, I am lucky to be sent a lot of items from different brands that I feature here on my blog with my honest thoughts for you lovely lot to read about.  One of those lovely brands to send me their latest release is Surratt.
NEW: Surratt Lipslique
The Surratt Lipsliques are new for 2015 and come in 16 different shades.  I was sent two to try out and thought I would tell you my thoughts on each aspect of the product.
Packaging
The lipslique comes in a black cardboard type box which is very subtle. So subtle in fact that I struggled to see what the product description actually was upon arrival. I think the design is sleek and classy. It's a product I would expect to see people like Victoria Beckham and Olivia Palermo use in terms of style.  The product itself is one of those twisty ones that brings more product up from the bottom. One thing I didn't like is that once you twist the bottom, there's no way to twist it back down which was quite annoying.
Pigment & Consistency
This has a balm like consistency and has a buildable coverage.  They are highly pigmented but definitely go on with a more medium coverage on one layer and a more full coverage with two layers.  They look super glossy and feel non drying on the lips which I love.

Lasting Power
As this has a balm consistency, they do kind of transfer a little bit onto glasses and whatnot but it doesn't really leave any residue on your teeth (or not that I've noticed).  I would maybe blot one layer and apply a second layer to try and avoid this.
Overall Verdict
I really like these but the fact that I can't twist back the product is really frustrating and would put me off of buying this. I don't think I would repurchase these if I ran out very often because at £22 they are a tad pricey. With that said, I would buy one now and again because the shades are really pretty and are well pigmented.
Have you tried the Surratt Lipslique out yet? what shades would you recommend if you have?
x
