New Pages at the Lesbrary — And a New Review Policy

Posted on the 21 January 2013 by Lesbrary @lesbrary

After too long of a delay, I have finally gotten around to updating the pages at the Lesbrary. There is now just one “About” page with basic info about the Lesbrary and the Lesbrarians, as well as submission policy (I’m always happy to post guest reviews and other relevant content, just let me know!)

There is still the “Authors” page, a list of les/bi/etc authors’ websites and blogs, which got too long for the sidebar.

I have also posted a separate “Review Policy” page. The short version: the Lesbrary will accept all les/bi/etc ebooks, but there’s no guarantee they will actually be reviewed, and all physical les/bi/etc books sent will definitely be reviewed, but there’s no guarantee it will be in a timely manner. I have a backlog of books to review, which is great, but it does mean that there is a delay. Which is why I am hesitantly adding another option: sponsored reviews.

I have no idea if this is an option that any author/publisher would choose, but I have been considering offering for a long time. For $10, I (Danika) will honestly review your book/ebook at an agreed upon time, like on its release date. This review will be crossposted on Goodreads and Amazon. The review will be marked as a sponsored review. I will still happily review books with no fee, but I thought I would offer an option for a guaranteed and timely review.

I would love to hear from authors and readers of the Lesbrary about whether you think this is an acceptable option to have posted, whether anyone would ever actually agree to  pay a fee or review, or any other comment you have.
