New Korean Cafe to Visit: Desso Bakery Cafe New Korean Cafe to Visit: Desso Bakery Cafe I couldn’t deny the fact that I am a big Korean fan – makeup, style, and most especially, food. A couple of months ago, as me and my friends head out to find a place where we can have a snack; we found this Korean café – Desso Bakery Café – in Bel-air Makati. Being bingsu lovers that we are, we decide to give it a try. What we didn’t expect was to find our new favorite bakery and green tea bingsu shop.

There were at least 2-4 breads of every flavor which we find weird at first, but then when we saw that they have an open kitchen (is kitchen the right term? Hmm), we realized that it’s to provide the customers freshly baked breads. Also, their staffs were very friendly and accommodating. But the best part is they have a free WiFi! Yeah!
They have wide range of breads to choose from. And because it is a Korean brand, expect some cutesy bread. Their best sellers are the “Nan Cream” breads. I know I asked one of their staff what does “Nan cream” means, but I totally forgot what she said. Figures.

Alright, enough nonsense. I know what you want to know is if their breads taste good. The answer is Yes with a capital Y! These were what we ordered:

Oppa Egg (100php)
Since all of the breads were freshly baked, it’s so soft and melts in your mouth. The flavor is just right that will keep you ask for more. The Nan Cream Red Bean has a generous amount of cream cheese filling inside with only a small amount of red bean to balance the taste. The Grain Cream Cheese has almond nuts on top which makes it crunchy when you take a bite.  New Korean Cafe to Visit: Desso Bakery Cafe  And the Oppa Egg is our personal favorite. For a hundred pesos, this is very sulit as it can be shared by 2-3 persons. It also has ham and cheese underneath the egg. The bread is actually not bread, but a muffin. Oppa Egg is a combination of sweet and sour flavor and is enough to make you full.
Of course the best part was the bingsu. We had Green Tea Bingsu (315php) and Mango Bingsu (300php). The serving is quite big and enough for at least 2-3 persons, so three hundred pesos have been just a right price for it. But it is not the price that I should talk about, because these bingsu’s are made to perfection. I’ll start with the Green Tea bingsu first.

The Green Tea Bingsu has red beans in a separate bowl, so you can opt not to eat it. Imagine the green tea cream frappe of Starbucks, that’s what it tastes like. I think they added the flavor to the ice before shaving it and let me just say that the ice was perfectly shaved. It’s like you’re eating homemade ice cream! Only this is better because it’s green tea. On the other hand, Mango Bingu’s topping was in the bowl with condensed milk drizzled on top. The real mango added more flavor to it, making it maasim and matamis. Three of us shared for this and we didn’t have to fight for the real mangoes topping because there’s a lot! Definitely worth it!
We didn’t get to try their drinks, but I’m sure they are good too. I’m actually curious with Sweet Potato Latte and Misukaru; I will surely try it soon and post it on my Instagram account (follow me @mhishacuyson).
Now, if you ever found yourself in Makati, you must visit Desso Bakery Café. So, among all the things we’ve eaten, what do you think you’ll most likely to try?
