Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

When her secret love letter somehow get mailed to each of her five crushes, Lara Jean finds her quiet high school existence turned upside down.

If you're not familiar with "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" besides it being on Netflix, this is actually based on Jenny Han's 2014 young adult novel of the same title. The author based the story on her love for writing long letters to boys she had crushes during her teenage years. "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" is followed by two sequels - P.S. I Still Love You and Always and Forever, Lara Jean. For now, let's talk about Netflix's "To All the Boys I've Loved Before".

If you check review aggregation websites, TATBILB has generally favorable reviews. It currently holds an approval rating of 96% based on 46 reviews, with an average rating of 7.2/10 on Rotten Tomato. On Metacritic, it holds an average score of 64 out of 100, based on reviews from 12 critics and a 7.4/10 rating on IMDb.

Those are really good numbers for a teen rom-com. I was surprised at first but I've already heard and seen good things about it online. After watching it, I now understand why.

I was a teenager once (and so were you!). Like any teen, I've seen and enjoyed various teen rom-com. After watching Netflix's "To All the Boys I've Loved Before", I have to admit that this is the first time I truly believed in a love story.

Sure, the story is simple. I'll give you that. But TATBILB is so genuine and pure that you accept everything about it. Not only that, but also Lara Jean is a very relatable character. It wasn't difficult to understand and like Lara Jean because deep inside there is a Lara Jean in all of us.

Moreover, the teen rom-com also impart some good family values. You can find that in Lara Jean's strong family relationship. This is the type of film I would really want the younger generation to watch instead!

If you haven't seen it, I hope you try to. It's worth your time. 😉 IMDb 8/10
