The Global Citizen festival is headed to Johannesburg in December to celebrate the life of the late Nelson Mandela.
Mandela, who would’ve turned 100 on July 18th is being honored by the organization for his work as a global activist who believed in the power of people working together.
Embed from Getty ImagesModel, and philanthropist Naomi Campbell, who is a producer for the festival in South Africa, announced the event Monday morning during a news conference.
Oprah is scheduled to give the keynote address on the life of Nelson Mandela. Forest Whitaker and Tyler Perry will reportedly share in hosting duties.
Headlining the event are non other than powerhouse couple, Beyonce and Jay-Z, with performances from Usher, Ed Sheeran, and Pharrell Williams. This year’s festival is expected to be there largest yet.
