My Winter Essentials #3: Body Care

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
It's time for part 3 of my Winter Essentials series and today it's all about the products that I use to keep my skin soft and healthy looking during the colder months. Nobody wants to deal with dry and flaky skin so it's important to keep on top of your body care routine, with plenty of emphasis on scrubs and moisturising body lotions!

No matter what season it is, a good body wash is always important! This winter I've been absolutely loving the Lush Snow Globe Soap* which is unfortunately a limited edition product at Christmas (boohoo). Snow Globe has such an energizing citrus scent which really manages to wake me up when I'm in the shower, and what's good is that it lathers up so easily and feels really moisturising on the skin.
Dry skin can be a big problem in the winter time due to the really cold weather, so I sometimes find that my body needs a bit more hydration than usual. Enter the Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser which is what I reach for when my skin is especially dry. I wouldn't say this skin conditioner is as effective as a body lotion or body butter, but it's so handy when you're in a rush and just want something moisturising to use in the shower.
As well as moisturising your skin in order to keep dry patches at bay, it's also so important to give your body a good scrub. My go-to body exfoliator has been the NSPA Jojoba and White Jasmine Body Polish* which is so affordable and does a great job of buffing away dry skin. It's a fairly smooth body scrub which means that it won't be too harsh on the skin and it also smells amazing due to the Sandalwood oil.
My final body care winter essential has to be body butter, and this year I've fallen back in love with the very popular Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter. Aside from the gorgeous smell of this body butter which makes it a joy to use, its thick formula does a great job of keeping your skin hydrated. The thicker consistency of this body butter isn't a problem as it still absorbs into the skin fairly quick, and afterwards you're left with soft and smooth skin.
