MAC Retro Matte Ruby Woo

Hello friends,
This week I am here with my take on the famous MAC lipstick – Retro Matte Ruby Woo.
I am sure Ruby Woo does not need any introduction. It is the perfect red for all skin tones and for every occasion.
After buying it, I was so nervous to wear it. As I am not used to wearing dark shades on lips, it took me forever to get used to Ruby Woo.
MAC describes Ruby Woo as a very matte vivid blue-red.

Price: I got it when it was priced at INR. 1,450/- and now the prices have increased!

Review
I was told that the perfect red always makes your teeth look whiter. This one not only makes my teeth look whiter, but also adds that brightness to my skin.

And, i have also noticed that Ruby Woo looks unique on everyone. Lady danger looks slightly orange on me but Ruby woo is just pure matte red with no obvious undertones.

The texture is very matte and if you aren’t a fan of matte lipsticks, ruby woo, however iconic it may be is definitely not for you!
Initially I had difficulty in applying the lipstick, spreading it etc. But then, once I started using it with a lip brush the bullet softened a bit and now I am able to apply it directly from the bullet.
The red is super intense. And on my lips, it stays put for over 5-6 hours. It does fade a little with a full meal.
The fragrance is the traditional MAC vanilla and despite the texture, this does transfer a bit.
It does not bleed. But as it is a very vibrant color, even a tiny smear looks extremely obvious and wiping the smear off with your fingers only adds to the agony as it leaves a stain.
Being a matte shade, prepping the lips before application is a must. I always use my Elizabeth Arden lip fix and MAC prep+prime before applying this lipstick. Or else, it emphasizes the lines on the lips and it does not look cool.
Apart from the dry texture and their ever increasing price, I don't see any other cons with this one.Swatch:This is how it looks on my skin. I use MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation in NC 40.

It is little over whelming on me to use on a every day basis. If you are used to wearing bold lip colors, then Ruby Woo is a must have.
MAC is very pricey these days but if the Lipstick has won awards like the best red ever, I am sure its okay to splurge!
