My Multi-tasking Brush

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
Yes yes, I know that Real Techniques already have a Multi-Task Brush which comes in the Travel Essentials brush set, but I have to give credit to this brush which has really taken over so many different makeup applications in the morning. My multi-tasking brush is none other than the Contour Brush which can only be found in the Real Techniques Core Collection which sets you back around £20.99 for 4 face brushes. I'll admit that I've hardly used the Detailer and Pointed Foundation brushes since I got the set last year, but I'd happily invest in this set again for the Buffing and Contour brushes alone as these are now staple items for me.

The Contour Brush is a small but densely packed domed brush which is the perfect size for the concentrated application of powder products, namely bronzer for contouring the cheeks as the name of the brush suggests. What I love about this brush is that it does its job of contouring very well, but also gives me a quick and easy way of applying so many other makeup products. I also use the Contour Brush to..
Apply blusher. The small and domed shape of the brush makes it great for applying a more concentrated amount of blush (as opposed to using the larger Blush Brush from Real Techniques). I like to use this brush for blusher when I'm using a more pigmented blush and don't want to cover the whole cheek area in powder, or else I'd end up looking like a clown.
Apply highlighter. Again, the smaller size of this brush makes it perfect for applying a little bit of highlighter to the cheekbones. This is especially useful when using highlighters with a lot of shimmer as you don't need to worry about going overboard. A quick swipe of product is all you need to leave your face looking very healthy and glowy.
Apply setting powder. The final use I have for the brush is that I reach for it when I want to be more specific when applying my pressed powder. My skin has been going through quite a change and has now left me with an oily t-zone, and I find the Contour Brush to be great for applying powder to my nose, forehead and chin as a way of preventing shininess. It's also handy for setting your concealer under the eyes!
So there you go, all the things I use my beloved Contour Brush for. Do you have a multi-tasking brush in your collection?
