My home facial in 7 steps!

Thanks to National Day, I have a day off! What’s a better way to spend the holiday than a relaxing facial at home? Today I’m gonna share with you how I do my home facial in 7 steps!

First Step: Cleanse the skin.

Cleansing with the right product is very important. Depending on your skin condition, choose a cleanser that suits you the most. A good cleanser should be able to remove traces of makeup and impurities without stripping the skin’s moisture.

My pick: Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam.
Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam is my current facial wash. At S$25 for 300ml, it was cheap and HUGE! What I like about this cleanser is that it smells of olives as well as lime, definitely refreshing for me at the end of the day. It is also quite moisturizing! The skin feels soft and clean after a wash.

Step 2: Exfoliate

I recommend doing home peels that would gives amazing results despite not stepping into the salon.

My pick: Dr Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Peel
This is a 2 steps home peel that takes a little bit of time but worth it once you feel the softness of your skin!
I got this as a sample and this is the first time I’ve tried a home peel. I’m pretty satisfied with it!

It contains a cotton pad inside soaked with AHA. What you have to do is to massage this against your skin in circular motion until pad turns dry. DO NOT RINSE OFF at either steps. Wait for two mins and proceed to step 2 with the same procedures.

You may experience slight tingling sensation due to AHA. But the after effects are pretty awesome! I get really smooth skin thereafter.

Step 3: LED light therapy

This is optional. But since I’ve got my Baby Quasar, I decided to use it! Blue LED lights help to control acne problem. Read more about how to use Baby Quasar here

Step 4: Apply serum or essence

A serum or essence have smaller molecules that can penetrate deeper into the skin. Apply this first before a mask can aid in the mask’s performance.
My pick: Laneige Water Bank Essence (I am really into hydrating the skin.)

Step 5: Mask

Apply mask according to your skin’s condition.

I got this TT Snow Lotus Cellulose Mask from a friend.

I love the mask sheet! The end result is a brighter, radiant skin that is very hydrated! Love it!

Step 6: Eye Cream
Paired with some massaging techniques, your eyes are bound to feel relax and refresh!
My pick: Clinique Repair Wear Laser Focus (Not my favorite but am trying to finish it! The texture is good for massaging though.)

Step 7: Facial Oil
These days, I choose facial oil over normal moisturizer at night. A good facial oil moisturize my skin better, leaving my skin softer and more hydrated the next day!
My Pick: Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate
