My Acne Story - The Way I Battled It

By Get Set Blush @GetSet_Blush
Let’s just accept the fact that having Acne is okay. Dealing with it is to be accepted as normal too. I say this because, I have gone through that phase when I was young (i.e. in my teens) and I still do (Believe it, I am in my 20’s). Battling acne was always been there in my life.
To start off, I have an oily skin since the beginning. Recently I have discovered it be oily/combination. When I was in my school, I have only known to apply a moisturizer all through the year. I mean, no special sun protection or no specific cream/lotion for winters or summers. I have used my body soap on my face too. Well, I didn’t know that the skin on my face is very sensitive and I have to take care of it.

Okay, I have entered my teens. I was happy. I exploded with happiness and so did my skin. I started to get pimples, predominantly white heads. I keep checking that small bump, scratch it to check if it is normal. I wake up the next day to see a big bump. I felt like eww. It was not one but they kept visiting me time to time. At times, they got their friends along. During that time, usually confident me hides somewhere and only raises when they go away.
I have been told by my friends that while we grow old these symbolize our age and that means I am growing old early. My granny told me to stop eating fried food just because she thinks that oil makes my oily skin more oily. The worst of all, when someone who actually knows that it is a pimple, they still ask me, what it was.! I just wanted to point out my finger and say it is a Pimple and not a Volcano. Apart from these, my mom was the only one who understood my pain and gave me the much needed emotional support. Well, like most of us I started applying the Neem paste, Turmeric paste, mix of turmeric and sandalwood paste what not. I have now narrowed my list to few very reliable products and *touch wood* my skin isn’t troubling me much.
Little did I know that I should visit the doctor and start using some good skincare products. I still feel that today’s teenagers are more lucky in this regard. They have really good skincare products like the one which I started using now(blame the ingredients) Garnier Pure Active Neem Face Wash. I must say that my face feels much better than yesterday. I sure did enjoy washing my face with this face wash as it didn’t dry my skin even in this chilly weather. It just made my skin look vibrant and oil free without making it matte or lifeless. I should specially mention about “All Natural” ingredients that are proven to do good to the skin.
To know more on this product you can check   bit.ly/GPABlogLinkIndiBloggerActivity and  bit.ly/GarnierPureActiveNeemWebsite                                  I do not say that you should be ashamed of having pimples or to lose your self confidence just because of a mere pimple. I know saying is easy but getting through the scene is difficult but I just wanted to say that you are beautiful the way you are and these pimples just do not reduce your charm.
Following a good diet and using the skincare which your dermatologist prescribed helps in combating pimples and its marks. Stay Pretty. Stay Beautiful. Just like the brand Garnier says, “Take Care”
