My 7 Go-To Outfits for AW16.

My 7 Go-To Outfits for AW16.

A week's worth of seasonal looks.
It was around two weeks ago that I finally admitted defeat, folded away my T-shirts and brought back down my box full of knitwear and tights. England is cold, the sort of cold that only several well-meaning knits, layered haphazardly yet with sartorial care and a jolly good cup of tea can combat. Or is that just me? One unsugared breakfast tea downed before getting dressed really helps to take the edge off things.
I’m spending almost a month away this autumn/winter and so I’ve not had the chance to truly indulge in a wardrobe shake-up but here are seven go-to and I-wish-I-had-this looks for the season:

COAT | TOP | TROUSERS | FLATS |

COAT | JUMPER | JEANS | BOOTS | BACKPACK

Something a little more everyday is this camel coat and over-the-knee boot combo. Pretty great for running errands and I just adore these ASOS 'Keepers' OTK boots! I'm yet to try that whole choker jumper look yet but this one from Boohoo(!!) has been waiting patiently in my basket to be bought. We shall see, eh...

PARKA | T-SHIRT | JEANS | WELLIES | GLOVES

Now that I’m ‘With Puppy’, I can finally see the benefits of those huge parka coats. Pockets, a giant hood and ribbed sleeve cuffs. The dream. I almost always head out for a dog walk early in the morning and am positively dreaming of payday when I can treat myself to a new dog-walking coat with huge pockets to stash Milo’s poop bags and treats, a tennis ball and my Thermos flask. And, as I recommend every single year, I never leave the house in the winter without touchscreen gloves. Gotta get that selfie/Instagram/Articuno!

JACKET | JUMPER | CULOTTES | LOAFERS | WALLET-ON-CHAIN

OK, OK, I trialled this earlier in the week and f r o z e. I think it was on Tuesday when I was in and out of the car and the house and various places that I needed to run errands (ahem, New Look and Topshop…) but this is just such a cute, sartorially led look that is great for not-too-cold days.

COAT | JUMPER | JEANS | LOAFERS

I think patterned trousers and white jeans can be tricky to pull off but I tried this outfit on for size when my boyfriend and I went to celebrate four months together and really liked it! It’s one of those true #Girlboss outfits, all black with a total curveball thrown into things.

COAT | SHIRT | TROUSERS | SHOES | SCARF

City slicker chic never looked better: I wore this exact outfit into London for some press days, a coffee date with my boyfriend and to celebrate Cutter and Squidge’s first birthday on Wednesday. You just can’t beat an Equipment silk shirt and a cosy ol’ scarf. You can’t.

SWEATSHIRT | LEGGINGS | SLIPPERS | INVISIBOBBLE | LIP BALM

There’s a sneaky secret hiding in this Sunday-centric weekend outfit (I wonder if you'll spy it and sign up!).
Nothing quite beats a fresh pair of slippers and a cosy sweatshirt for Sundays, does it? I’m also a huge convert to these invisible hair-ties lately; I can only truly focus on working when my hair is away my face but I also hate when hair-ties leave a mark in your hair and these are the perfect middleman!
