New York: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) through its US chapter has approached United Nations over delimitation of constituencies in Karachi. Election Commission off Pakistan has notified changes in certain constituencies in Karachi. MQM has strongly reacted to the decision and termed the move as a conspiracy against the largest political party of Karachi. MQM has maintained that redrawing constituencies without census is illegal and unlawful. On the other hand Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) rubbished any conspiracy and clarified that numerous other constituencies has been realigned during past five years.
MQM leader Junaid Fehmi filed a memorandum at UN headquarters in New York to record their protest against Election Commission of Pakistan.
